Hello,
I have been a little lackadaisical in my "blogging". Last time I got on for inspiration, I couldn't find anyone who had blogged in the last two weeks. Lots of good blogs today tho'.

Well, I took my friend Amy's advise and went shopping for new outfits. I am a firm believer in that "if you look good, you must be good". So, with all my children out of town for Spring Break, I took time to update my running attire. The items I have from my past "running" life will be perfect for my 5:00 AM runs, but I won't subject you all to them. Nothing more inspiring than new outfits.

I am enjoying my week. It sure is quiet with everyone out of town. My office phone has even been giving me a break. Of course, my cell phone is still in full swing. May actually get something accomplished, tho'. But, have no fear, those children come home. . . . . .

I am enjoying my runs. My running pal, Scout (a boxer), was out of commission Monday. So, it was a little easier to run. I really worked on my speed. Don't think I'm going to leave anyone in the dust. I love Rusty Sumrall's blog about "run like you stole something". I think I will be chuckling about that forever. I hope that person is running this year. I may need that. Interval training makes the run go so much faster. I think I have found a method to the madness, if you will.

Always look forward to my cross training days. I always do fun things like ride my bike or swim. Don't even feel like I've had a workout. Last week I went to this "killer" aerobic class - literally. It was hilarious. It everyone was mamboing to the right, I was going to the left and not necessarily "mamboing". The wonderful thing about it was, there was a yoga class following the aerobics. Now that is more my speed. I was totally "restored" after the yoga class. I think I will be back. I'm even going make to the funny aerobic class. As uncoordinated as I am, I think I can. . . . . .

Off and running . . .

Magical Three Months

OK, where is everyone getting this three month information? Does this mean in three months, I will wake up and magically, all my less complimentary features, i.e. fat, will be gone???? This is better than I thought. All I thought I was going to do is run a marathon. I am not a scale "jumpy". I found a long time ago that if you get on the scale and it is not going the direction you want, you eat a piece of cake in desperation; if it is going down, you eat the cake in celebration. I do better to just eat like I know I should which doesn't include a lot of cake. But, I do sneak on it when I am at Courthouse and its not moving. . . . . . No, I did not go eat cake. Dumb scale. It must be wrong. HA! So, if we are patient, three months should be the magical time frame. And in reference to Mark's blog, the warehouse manager will be looking for a new job. I have three months. Actually, I have until October 7th. I really am having fun with this. Last night I have a good swim and this morning I had a good run. It sure was humid. I am starting to run faster than my dog. Scout is going to have to get dropped off after our first lap. She is not going to like that. I'll be getting those puppy eyes. Everyone enjoy you day OFF. See you Saturday!

Sunny Days

What a delightful day!!! It was fun to meet Amy at Strawberry Patch Park and walk in the light of day instead of the dark of dawn. For a moment I reverted to my "South Madison County" stay-at-home mom days when my children swung high in the swings and slid down the slides. We had a delightful walk and visit. The weather was perfect. I hope it is like this in Chicago. HA! Amy's walkin'/talkin' friend joined us and we ran into MM Ann. The time passed quickly and before we knew it, it was time to return to reality and work. Legs are feeling stronger. Gotta run.

So far, so FUN

Ok, so I have been a little slow getting going on this "blogging", but I have been inspired by reading everyone 's fun spots. I am really enjoying Marathon Makeover. It has provided the needed discipline to my exercise routine. I really enjoyed Saturday morning. It was great to “run” into friends from other “walks” in my life like Brian and Carolyn. As ever, it was great to hang with Amy, Merrill, and Cathy. And it was fun making new friends like Debra, Mary, Ann, Holly, Bama . . . Hearing about the plans for THE marathon really motivated me. I can see it now. The weather this morning was wonderful for my bike ride. I hope everyone has a good week. I will try to come up with some more inspiring and “entertaining most inner thoughts” for my next blog. I’m off and running. . . .

Tracy's Trek

Hi Marathon Friends,
Here we go. Imagine my surprise on Sunday when I began reading over the material we got Saturday and found out TODAY was the day to begin this trek. Since I had been out of my exercise routine for several months, I decided, walk would be good X-training - any training. So, off I went. My dog Scout, is my training buddy. She is really excited being back in the exercise mode. I have managed to stay on schedule through the dark of morning and rain. Got new shoes & socks. Feel so good. Sure enjoing this Friday off, but looking forward to getting together tomorrow. See you at the Baptist Healthplex. Good luck to all.
